BME Seminars: Pascal DUMY

The next BME seminar will take place on Friday 23th november with a lecture of Pascal DUMY entitled "Biomolecules Engineering for Smart Molecular Imaging and Targeting". Pascal DUMY is chemical enginneer from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier and he currently heads this school.  (See attached flyer)

"The development of molecular devices endowed with targeting functions should enable the specific delivery of toxic molecules or imaging probes or a combination thereof to malignant tissues, thus increasing their local efficacy. Such vectors can pave the way for the development of new classes of therapeutics and diagnosis, which could in the future be called tailor-made medicine. In line with this concept, we have devised Regioselectively Addressable Functionalized Template (RAFT) molecule as multivalent adaptor to engineer more and more complex structures with tailor made functions. For this purpose, we have developed efficient conjugation techniques that allows highly efficient modular combination of peptides and sugars as recognition elements with toxic or/and imaging probes. The lecture will provide an overview of the result so far obtained in vitro and in vivo using this approach in the field of molecular imaging, image-guided surgery and tumor targeting."

We draw your attention on the fact that for the first time of this year the seminar will not take place at Arts & Métiers ParisTech, but at the Centre Universitaire des Saints Pères, 45 rue des Saints Pères, 75006 Paris, Salle R229.

Thank you.
